Caribbean Basin Brokers was founded in 2022 during the pandemic by Marie Latortue and Jean Latortue, health professionals from Haiti. With advanced degrees and international experience, Marie is a dentist. Her brother, Jean Latortue, is a physician.

During the pandemic, Drs Marie and Jean witnessed the famine, poverty, inequality, and unemployment in the Caribbean countries – especially Haiti, a country with many social, economic, and political problems. As they worked through mission trips and other means to give back to the islands, they decided a smarter way to help was to establish a business that focused on providing solutions: nutritious food, affordable clothing, fresh water, and employment.

Company solutions are not restricted to the Caribbean Basin. We support U.S. customers nationwide with the goal to build a business that has the means to “give back” and “lift up” those in need, those who want to learn and excel, and those who need commodities and services at reasonable prices with reliable support.

Caribbean Basin Brokers is headquartered in Montgomery, Texas – just outside of Houston. We also have an office in Louisiana as well as an office and retail store in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We have provided janitorial services as well as food items to customers located in Texas, California, Louisiana, Bermuda, and the Dominican Republic.
